We are a small family operation, fully licensed and a member of VTOA.
The owner, your driver and guide MIKE, was born in Germany and has been
living in Australia for over 35 years.
Our aim is to make your Australian Adventure Your Holiday of a Lifetime.

Hi, my name is Mike (Michael) Hofmann. I was born in Germany
and ever since arriving in Australia in 1960 have been travelling the Outback at every
opportunity, often on my own and to very remote regions and in the early days mostly
in conventional 2 wd vehicles. I learned to live and survive in the bush the hard way
and tried may hand at all kind of activities. Wood chopping, prospecting and
gold mining are just a few of them.
I love this great country.

MY COUNTRY
By Dorothea MacKellar
 "I love a sunburnt country,
 A land of sweeping planes,
Of rugged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel seas,
Her beauty and her terror - The wide brown land for me!"
On my travels, particularly during the past ten years or so I have met an increasing
number of overseas tourists. Sitting around a camp fire at night they told of their
experiences, listened to my travel stories and realized that there was so much that
they had not seen. Generally because of their lack of local knowledge or because
of the risks involved entering some of the areas "off the beaten track".
Gradually I formed the opinion that there would be a way for myself to make a living
and at the same time to be doing what I enjoyed most. As long as I could keep prices
competitive with the big tour operators and, at a level equal to what visitors had to pay
for the hire of a sound 4 WD vehicle and for their running and living expenses.

My last (paying) job was as a Freelance Consultant to a section of a Victorian Government Department. Becoming disillusioned with the 'System' during the past few years I decided to do what I love doing most. Travel the outback and share its beauty,
contrasts and  my favourite places with you the traveller and and overseas visitors
to Australia.
I purchased an OKA 4 WD Tour Bus, sold my home to pay for it and hit the road.
I love it, should have done so many years ago.
Enough about me.

Our Tour Prices are all inclusive! Two meals on the first and last day, 3 meals any
other day. Accommodation is by two person tent. On most tours we stay at least once,
on some tours up to three times at a motel, cabin or similar. The cost for this is also
included.
On some tours where we have a free day for example at Alice Springs, Darwin, or
Perth, breakfast only is provided.
The prices also include all scheduled excursions such as River Cruises on the Katherine
Gorge or Geikie Gorge, and admission to museums etc..
At some destinations there are local excursions on offer such as sightseeing flights at the
Bungle Bungle. These are optional and at your expense. Single accommodation can be
arranged at an additional charge.

Our OKA 4 WD Tour Bus is fitted with reclining aircraft type seats, fully air conditioned and takes a maximum of 13 passengers. We limit passenger numbers to nine, occasionally ten as I like to see my passenger as fellow travellers rather than as buying customers and because I feel that this country is best experienced as members of a small group.
We occasionally permit Tag Along travelers, but limit this to three  vehicles, with a maximum of six participants in total. Our group is never larger than 15 participants.

We specialize in 4 WD Outback Tours for SMALL GROUPS, to any destination
(within reason) and we can arrange tours to suit your group and to many places
OFF THE BEATEN TRACK where other operations won't take you.
We always try to give you plenty of time at places of interest and rarely ever drive after
nightfall.
With five passengers I break even, with seven I'm able to put some aside for maintenance and replacements. Any more pay's me a wage.
With five passengers the tours will definitely run. I can arrange tours for less than five
passengers but the prices will then increase steeply.
I'm very interested in arranging tours for private or special interest groups.
As an Incentive I offer a discount to any self organized group of over six participants.
It is important that interested groups contact me early so that I can schedule theirs and other tours accordingly.
You tell me where you want to go, how much time you have available and the preferred time for the tour. I will then advise you and arrange the tour for you.

I have some great plans for 1999 and the year 2000.
There will be some unique adventure tours, exploring parts of our country that have hardly been seen by white man. One of those expeditions includes whale watching at the Great Australian Bight, exploration of one of the world famous but little visited limestone caves in the Nullarbor, part of the Great Victoria Desert and then going west alongside the Trans- Continental railway line to Kalgoorlie and Perth.
The duration of these tours will vary between three and five weeks. Participants are invited to contribute to the general running of these tours by participating in the  navigation, day to day planning and also some of the more mundane tasks like setting up camp, cooking and even digging the hole for the dunny.
The cost of these tours has not been finalized at this time, but will possibly be in the vicinity of  A$ 135.00 to A$ 175.00 per day per participant.
