The OKA
Our OKA Tour Bus, at a flooded creek in the Nullarbor. |
The 4 WD, high torque, and the right
wheels and
tyres allow us to go almost anywhere. The Nullarbor consists of the largest Lime Stone slap in the world. Its eroded surface is in most places extremely rough and good driving skills and constant concentration are required so as not to cut the tyres to shreds. After taking delivery of our new bus I drove it across the Nullarbor, following the Trans Continental Railway line. Most of the track has not been graded for 17 years and the going was very slow. |
| The OKA handled the conditions
extremely well.
Some of our tours cross part of the Nullarbor along the same route. The OKA is an Australian designed and built 4x4 vehicle. It was originally designed for the mining industry and due to its robust construction and well designed features has gained the respect of that industry. Being of modular construction, the same basic design is used to produce six different models. From a flat tray truck to Dual Cap, Multi Cap, Van, Mining- Bus and Tour Bus. Our Tour Bus with it's dual shockers all around, specially designed springs and Aircraft Type reclining seats provides a very comfortable ride with a low fatigue factor for driver and passengers. The vehicle is built to the highest standard for Roll Over protection and fitted with separate air conditioning for cab and bus. |
Wherever we arrive in our OKA, it always attracts most peoples attention,
being recognised as
a "serious" 4WD vehicle.
